EXPERIMENTAL FLUID DYNAMICSThe Professorship of Experimental Fluid Dynamics studies how turbulence interacts with aerodynamic bodies in complex flows. These interactions govern the performance of systems ranging from wind turbines and aircraft to buildings and urban environments, yet many of the underlying physical mechanisms remain poorly understood. Our research combines laboratory and field experiments to uncover these mechanisms and to improve our understanding of turbulent and aerodynamic flows.
